We find it very important to have a good foundation for the product design. In order to come to the best results, we follow a design process that has proved itself in many projects.
We do not start with sketching, but first build a good basis with a number of short analyses, so that we can come with better solutions for the user.
- Insight | our foundation for the design is the user, a human being. We see users as the source of innovation and improvements. A number of short analyses helps us to get insight into the buyers and users, competitors, design direction, technical issues and ip aspects. An important part of the research is a user research: we interview users and do observations in order to get insight in how users treat products, where irritation might be, and try to find ergonomic improvements. The analyses result in a list of specifications for the product.
- Concepts | we generate design concepts and solutions, design beautiful, functional and speaking forms that fit with the product and the target group, design the system, the interaction between user and the product.
- Pre-engineering | before proceeding, we first build some quick proto models, test the functionality with users, create the first contacts with manufacturers and find important components for the product, so that we are well prepared for the development.
- Development | now we develop the design to a real product by means of 3D CAD engineering, devine the material, thicknesses, places where connections are to be placed, conduct simulations and calculations, find the best production methods, design electronics and software for the product and discuss with suppliers about costprices and production techniques.
- Prototyping | before starting the production of the newly designed product we make one or more prototypes to test the functionality and optimize the design. After this we help you to bring the product in production.
- Industrialisation | we optimise and change the product design according to your wishes, agree on production quality standards, help with certifications, documentation and other issues up to production of the product.
